The Vote for Bob campaign

During the noisy lead-in to an election getting 121,000 nature supporters to persuade 1,098 political candidates that a ‘Vote for Bob’ (a cute squirrel) is a ‘vote for nature’ is no easy task. But with a fun UX and a clever back end that’s exactly what we managed to achieve with The RSPB.

Wandering Bear created a web platform to inspire nature supporters to influence political candidates by asking them to sign an e-petition. A flow of emails, notifications and social media sharing was the catalyst for action and user registration data was encrypted, stored and imported into a proprietary CRM. The multi-device, multi-language site featured personalised pages for supporters and politicians, an online shop to buy campaign merchandise and rich engaging content that users could share on social media channels. Supporters were encouraged to upload statements and pictures to the site and a custom module in the CMS allowed The RSPB to moderate and publish user generated content.
